EBR fire district's rating drastically improves
SCOTLANDVILLE - A struggling fire district in East Baton Rouge is changing its reputation.
In 2012, the Alsen St. Irma Lee fire district earned an ISO ten rating, the worst rating possible (one is the best).
The change in ratings came with a switch up to the administration.
"I'm happy to say we are going to a fire class five, but we're not trying to stay there we're trying to get better," District 9 Fire Chief Charles Jackson said.
Jackson gives credit to his staff, funding help from the parish and more accountability for the transition.
