East Baton Rouge Parish School Board members say they're insulted by the Baton Rouge Chamber's reaction to the school superintendent's resignation.
Superintendent John Dilworth turned in his resignation letter to the district last Friday. He cited his wife's health and the inability to sell his Alabama home as reasons.
Also on Friday, Chamber President and CEO Adam Knapp issued a statement reacting to the resignation. He said, "The suddenness of the superintendent's resignation does cause us to ask if school board micromanagement has played a role in his decision."
Some board members responded by saying they're insulted and confused, while others say they're not surprised at all.
Dilworth is expected to detail his decision furthur at a press conference Tuesday. However, a time has not yet been announced.
