BATON ROUGE- Easter festivities across the Capital area brought hundreds out to enjoy the holiday.

At the Living Faith Christian Center, a group of Chinese tourists experienced the Easter celebration for the first time, taking in some soulful gospel music.

"I'm very excited to hear the music," said Zhao Yi, who was visiting from Shanghai, "Your city welcomed us to your city, so I'm very glad to see and hear the music."

Across town at St. Vincent de Paul's dozens of volunteers dished out delicious Easter dinners to the hungry. It was part of their annual Easter feast that boasts an all you can eat sit down meal for the city's needy.

"It's so important to have everybody coming together and nobody fussing or arguing or fighting or nothing, you know this just good!" said Kerrie West, who was enjoying his Easter meal.

Volunteers also gave out Easter baskets to children who visited and made sure each person left with an extra meal for dinner.
