Early voting for Dec. 6 election to conclude tomorrow
BATON ROUGE - Secretary of State Tom Schedler on Friday reminded the public that Saturday, Nov. 29 is the final day to cast an early vote in the upcoming Dec. 6 General Congressional Election.
Early voting sites will be open tomorrow from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Schedler says turnout leading up to the Thanksgiving holiday has been steady according to early statistics.
"So far 174,511 citizens have cast ballots during this early voting cycle," said Secretary of State Tom Schedler. "That's far more than we saw in the last Congressional Election in 2010 in which approximately 125,000 registered voters participated in early voting, but it is somewhat lighter turnout than the state saw during the primary just one month ago where 245,000 utilized the early voting option."
To find out where to vote, Louisiana residents can use the state's award winning smartphone application, GeauxVote Mobile, to find polling stations and get info on their voting districts and what's on the ballot. The app is available for Android and iOS devices.
