Early voting begins Nov. 24
BATON ROUGE - Early voting for the Dec. 8 election begins this weekend, according to the Louisiana Secretary of State's office.
Early voting in the state runs from Nov. 24 to Dec. 1 from 8:30 a.m. To 6 p.m. excluding this Sunday, Nov. 25.
"We saw a very high voter turnout of 67% during the Presidential Election in November and I hope registered voters will remain interested and engaged in our democratic process" said Secretary of State Tom Schedler
The election includes runoffs from the Nov. 6 general election, as well as a congressional race in the state's 3rd District between Rep. Charles Boustany Jr. and Rep. Jeff Landry. The race was forced after Louisiana lost a seat in Congress after the census.
A number of other positions and measures from around the greater Baton Rouge area will be up for a vote. Click here to visit the Secretary of State's Geaux Voter portal, where you can find a sample ballot for your district.
