EA holds off Dutchtown in OT thriller
The East Ascension Spartans raced out to a 24-0 first half lead, but needed an overtime score to secure the win against neighboring rival Dutchtown 36-30 in overtime.
Dutchtown turnovers helped catalpault the Spartans to a first half lead as EA scored on three of the Griffins four first half gifts.
The Griffins came storming back in the second half scoring four rushing touchdowns, two from Fitell Bolding and Kajuan Coleman each.
The two point conversions tied the game at 30 a piece and pushed the game to extra time.
In overtime Spartan linebacker Joshua Bates recovered another Griffin fumble and raced in for the game winning score.
