RUSTON, La. - With 13 starters and 42 lettermen back from a team that barely missed bowl eligibility in 2010, second-year head coach Sonny Dykes expects Louisiana Tech to be better this season.
However, Dykes says it remains to be seen whether his team's improvement will be reflected in the win column.
The Bulldogs' schedule pits them against what appear to be strong programs early and late in the season.
Tech has to play Conference USA title contenders Southern Mississippi and Houston, as well as Mississippi State of the mighty Southeastern Conference in three of its first four games.
The Bulldogs' final four games include rugged Western Athletic Conference road contests at Nevada and Fresno State, as well as another road test at Mississippi.
