Louisiana State Police are looking for Ronald Blum of Zachary who escaped from custody by faking a heart ailment.
Blum was arrested October 17 for third-offense DWI, passing on the shoulder and operating a vehicle with a suspended driver’s license.
Troopers took Blum to LSU Earl K. Long Medical Center after medical staff at Parish Prison determined his blood pressure was high and he needed medical attention. Police say Blum began to fake a heart illness at the medical center and was given a test that required troopers to remove his handcuffs.
After the test, Blum continued to scream as if he was in pain and doubled over. He then escaped from the medical center through the back door of the emergency room.
Anyone with information should call State Police at (225) 754-8500.
