Dutchtown's Eric Reid taken by 49ers in the NFL Draft
LSU Safety Eric Reid joined fellow Tiger defender Barkevious Mingo in the first round of the NFL Draft in New York city on Thursday night.
Reid was selected with the 18th selection by the San Francisco 49ers who traded with Dallas for the pick.
Reid and Mingo become the latest of 35 LSU Tigers taken in the first round of the NFL Draft.
Last year, cornerback Morris Claiborne (No. 6 overall) and defensive tackle Michael Brockers (No. 12 overall) were selected in the first round.
Reid could be joined by fellow Dutchtown High School product Eddie Lacy in the first round, as the running back from Alabama is also in New York for the first round selections.
