DUTCHTOWN - A Dutchtown High student collapsed this afternoon at the school gym and later died, according to officials.

A school coach identified the student as James "Burke" Cobb, who was going to be a freshman this fall.

A school spokesperson said the student had finished football practice and was playing basketball with other students in the school gym around 1 p.m. when he collapsed.

The student was airlifted to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The spokesperson said the collapse appears unrelated to the football practice at this point.
