Dump truck on fire causes I-10 delays
BATON ROUGE - Late morning traffic headed east across the Mississippi River Bridge ground to a halt as an 18-wheeler caught fire near the middle of the bridge on Friday.
The truck blocked the right lane of I-10 East and caused delays in both directions.
DOTD said authorities closed I-10 East to deal with the fire around 10:45, reopening it almost an hour later. Congestion in that direction was back two miles past LA 415, and backed up past the I-10/I-12 split going westbound.
Authorities are detouring traffic off I-10 East at LA 1. No one was hurt in the fire.
