DENHAM SPRINGS - Police arrested three kids after they said the trio stole weapons on display at the Old City Hall in Denham Springs.
Detective Zach Albritten with Denham Springs Police said the boys, two 12-year-olds and a 15-year-old, were arrested after taking a number of firearms, including two handguns, a rifle, a rifle replica, and a non-functional hand grenade.
The museum administrator said the boys came in and she heard them open a window upstairs. She said she kicked them out, and then noticed the weapons were missing after she went to close the window.
She said the boys had signed the guest registry when they came into the library, which police used to track them down and arrest them. Albritten said they also recovered all the weapons except for the hand grenade.
The boys were placed in the Florida Parishes Juvenile Detention Center, pending a hearing.
