Drunk driver crashes into tailgating trailer
BATON ROUGE - Sheriff's deputies in East Baton Rouge Parish said they arrested a man accused of driving while drunk after he crashed his truck into a tailgating party trailer while still on LSU's campus after Saturday night's game.
The wreck happened shortly after 11 p.m. on Nicholson Drive near West Chimes Street on Saturday when 22-year-old William Andrepont's truck ran off the road and crashed into a catering trailer, according to deputies.
Deputies said a search of Andrepont's Toyota truck after the crash turned up a hand-rolled joint of marijuana in the ashtray, a 12-pack of beer with at least one can open, 12 tablets of Xanax, small amounts of morphine and hydrocodone, a digital scale and a loaded .45-caliber handgun.
Andrepont was driving with a suspended license due to one of his two prior arrests for driving while intoxicated, according to court documents.
Andrepont was booked into EBR Parish Prison on Sunday morning on several charges.
