Drugs tied to nuclear launch officers
F.E. WARREN AIR FORCE BASE, WYOMING- Two Air Force nuclear missile launch officers are implicated in an illegal drug investigation.
One defense official says both are responsible for operating the Minuteman 3 intercontinental ballistic missiles and are assigned to the 341st Missile Wing.
The official says the officers' access to classified information is suspended and the Air Force is investigating.
It's the latest sign of trouble for the nuclear forces which have experienced security lapses, discipline issues and low morale.
