Drugs found, man arrested during I-12 traffic stop
HAMMOND - Louisiana State Police arrested a Florida man after investigators said they found narcotics during a traffic stop in Tangipahoa Parish.
Troopers arrested Alexander Pesante, 41, of Orlando after they stopped and searched his vehicle on I-12 near Hammond Thursday morning.
Troopers said they became suspicious of Pesante's behavior after they stopped him, so they got permission to search his vehicle and found multiple packages of drugs. State Police said they found a total of 14 pounds of cocaine and a pound of marijuana inside the car.
Pesante was booked into the Tangipahoa Parish jail on drug charges.
