East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff's deputies arrested a man after a car chase from East Baton Rouge Parish to Livingston Parish.

A Sheriff's deputy attempted to stop suspect Royal Rhodus, of Walker, for playing loud music in his vehicle.

Rhodus sped away from the officer, and then threw a white bag from the passenger window, according to the deputy.

The chase came to an abrupt stop when the Rhodus' truck engine blew out on Corbin Road near Florida Boulevard.

Sheriff's deputies searched the pickup and found about 26 grams of marijuana, and a digital scale. Deputies also located the plastic bag which contained methamphetamine.

Rhodus is charged with Possession Methamphetamine and Marijuana, Operating a Clandestine Lab, Possession of Drug paraphernalia, Aggravated Flight from an Officer and Disturbing the Peace by Amplified Device. Rhodus was booked in Livingston and moved to East Baton Rouge Parish Prison.
