MORGAN CITY- State police are investigating a fatal crash that occurred while St. Mary Parish sheriff's deputies were pursuing a suspect in a narcotics investigation.

The accident occurred Wednesday afternoon in Morgan City.

Trooper Stephen Hammons says deputies were chasing 44-year-old Irvian Singleton of Morgan City when his made a left turn into the path of another car and his vehicle overturned. Singleton was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the other car suffered moderate injuries.
