NAPOLEONVILLE – More than 40 people have been arrested so far this morning in drug raids around Assumption Parish.

Sheriff Mike Waguespack said the arrests are part of a nine-month undercover operation targeting drug dealers in the parish, called "Get A Real Job".

Narcotics agents found enough evidence to get 64 arrest warrants for distribution of controlled dangerous substances.  More than 40 of those people were located this morning and booked into the Assumption Parish jail.

Waguespack said the suspects are accused of dealing prescription pills, cocaine and marijuana throughout the parish.  Around ten different agencies took part in the undercover operation or this morning’s arrests.
