Drivers can now pay most tickets from the East Baton Rouge Sheriff's Office online, a move Sheriff Sid Geautreaux hopes will cut down on outstanding traffic warrants.
People ticketed for speeding, failure to yield or running a red light can take care of them using the EBRSO web site.
Other offenses, like DWI or any traffic stop that resulted in an arrest, still require court appearances.
This is the first online ticket payment system for district court tickets.
The sheriff's office has 30,000 outstanding traffic warrants.
