BATON ROUGE- Across the area people dealt with a wet weekend.
Within minutes several streets turned into shallow lakes all over town.
Richy Shaffer says, "There was about four or five cars stalled out. What caught my attention was a guy in a kayack."
Shaffer snapped a picture of a man sailing down Goodwood Boulevard Saturday. He says, "It's kinda scary I guess, Maybe for some of the older people that live around here and like I said they never seen the water get that high."
The storms claimed the life of 66-year-old Nathaniel Evans Jr. this weekend.
He died after a giant water oak fell on top of his truck on College Drive near Jefferson Highway.
It happened during the height of the heavy rains on Saturday.
