Driver killed in I-110 wreck identified
BATON ROUGE - Police released the name of the 83-year-old man who died in a crash while exiting I-110 this morning in Baton Rouge.
Cpl. Don Coppola Jr. said Walter Georgetown of Brusly died from injuries sustained in the wreck at I-110 North and Florida Boulevard.
Investigators said Georgetown's SUV was leaving the interstate at the Florida exit when he lost control and hit a concrete support pillar.
He was taken to a local hospital in critical condition, and later died from his injuries.
There were no other passengers in the vehicle, and Coppola said the crash remains under investigation.
