Drive-by shooting and police chase
BATON ROUGE - Baton Rouge Police say a man was arrested after a drive-by shooting and a police chase.
Police reports say Joshua Magee, 23, sped past an officer going more than 80 miles per hour while shooting a gun on I-10 west near Louise Street.
Officials say the officer then tried to chase him down I-10 but Magee didn't stop. Magee finally pulled over in a vacant parking lot where he was arrested.
Magee told police he shot his gun to scare some people that he had gotten into an argument with earlier in the evening. He also said he threw the gun out of his window while driving after seeing the police car chasing him.
Magee is charged with assault by drive-by shooting, obstruction of justice, flight from officer, reckless operation of a vehicle, and speeding.
