Drew Brees, wife Brittany become Walk-On's co-owners
NEW ORLEANS - Saints quarterback Drew Brees and his wife Brittany announced a new addition to their family Wednesday - a restaurant chain.
Brees and his wife became co-owners of Walk-On's Enterprises on Monday. The company, whose founders have their roots in LSU, created the Walk-On's sports bar chain and catering business as well as Happy's Irish Pub.
Drew Brees said he plans to take an active role in expanding the company into a nationwide brand.
"We're not just passive investors," he said. "I think we're going to have a lot of fun, and celebrate a lot of wins, in the years ahead."
"Drew and I consider New Orleans to be our home now, so we love the idea of investing in a Louisiana-based brand that is so well respected in its industry," Brittany Brees said.
Walk-On's announced its first franchise agreement recently in Lake Charles, as well as a new company-owned restaurant under construction in Houma. Additional markets are expected to be unveiled in the coming weeks.
