ST. FRANCISVILLE- People in the Baton Rouge region are once again bracing for flooding problems along several waterways.

Portions of southern Mississippi received several inches of rain over the past two days.  Much of that water will drain south into Louisiana.

Water levels on Thompson Creek and its tributaries are high. It is the same type problems people in the Solitude area dealt with about one year ago.

Drainage improvements were made last May on Logan's Bayou. 20 homes near a small bridge flooded after Hurricane Gustav, others have flooded during major rain events since then.

People have kept sandbags around their homes for more than a year. They want to see if the improvements continue to work before letting their guards down.
