BATON ROUGE – Police are investigating a double shooting where one person died outside a North Foster Drive nightclub overnight.

Christopher Edwards, 30, Port Allen, was shot in the torso area and died. A 35-year-old woman was also shot and taken to a hospital. She is expected to survive, police said.

Police said it appears Edwards and others got into a fight inside The Executive Club, 2231 N. Foster, and the fight turned into gunfire outside. The woman did not appear to be an intended target, according to the news release sent by Baton Rouge Police on the situation.

There was no information about a shooter.
