ADDIS - State Transportation leaders are planning to add a "J" turn at a deadly intersection. It's at LA One and Sugar Plantation Parkway.
Over the weekend, 68-year-old Elise Boudreaux was killed there. Earlier this year, Les Miles' sister, Ann Hope Brown died there too.
State Transportation leaders are planning to add a "J" turn there. It will force people coming out of the the subdivision to turn right, instead of cutting across LA One.
"We are in the design phase," Spokeswoman Jodi Conachen said. "We will complete the design on the J turn and we will try to get it bid or let as quickly as possible."
Neighbors who live in the subdivision aren't happy. They want to see a traffic light installed at the intersection.
"When I heard they were going to add a J turn, I immediately thought it was a joke," Keri Hebert said. "How are you going to force thousands of cars a day into a right turn which you immediately have to get in the left lane to turn around?"
Hebert and some of her neighbors are organizing a protest. It will be held in front of the subdivision on Wednesday evening.
