DOTD OKs left turns at Burbank and E. Boyd intersection
BATON ROUGE - Left turns at the intersection of Burbank Drive and East Boyd Drive are legal again as of Thursday, according to traffic officials in Baton Rouge.
The busy intersection attracted attention in July when the traffic signal was removed and a stop sign installed in its place. The area saw big changes during a summer that included extensive work on Burbank Drive including re-striping the street and adding a center turn lane.
DOTD says crews have made left turns at the intersection possible by removing a tree along Burbank Drive that blocked line of sight for turning drivers.
The changes to the intersection were made with the intent of improving traffic flow and overall safety in an area of the city that is highly traveled.
