PORT ALLEN - The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development will wrap up a two-day inspection of the LA 1 bridge in Port Allen on Wednesday.
Crews are using a high-tech bucket truck on rental from the state to do the work. One lane will be shut down on the northbound side between 8:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. Wednesday.
State traffic officials say this is part of a routine inspection. No serious problems have been uncovered.
The bridge spans the Intracoastal Waterway and the Port Allen locks. An estimated 40,000 drivers cross the bridge each day.
