Stretches of interstate closed for cold weather
SHREVEPORT - State traffic officials closed two sections of interstates in northwest Louisiana Tuesday afternoon in anticipation of wintry weather.
DOTD closed portions of I-49 in Caddo Parish, and I-220 in Caddo and Bossier parishes. They said this would let them focus their available resources on priority routes with higher traffic volume.
Drivers can get the latest updates on real-time traffic and road conditions by dialing 511 and saying the route or region they'd like to get information about. Out-of-state travelers can call 1-888-ROAD-511 (1-888-762-3511).
