BATON ROUGE - State transportation officials asked people today to help them improve traffic on the La. 1 corridor.

The Department of Transportation and Development posted a survey for people to answer if they drive along La. 1. DOTD hopes it will help them improve traffic and safety along the route from the Intracoastal Waterway to Bayou Plaquemine.

There are no definite plans as of yet, but those living in Addis near Sugar Plantation Parkway hope those plans keep a traffic signal at a deadly intersection. DOTD installed a temporary light last year at the intersection of Sugar Plantation and La. 1 after multiple fatal crashes.
