Baton Rouge, LA - "Nobody's trying to race me at football they don't want that."

Donte Jackson knows he's the fastest member of DBU, taking his speed most of us see in Tiger Stadium and using it on the track as he leads off the fastest 4x100 meter relay in the country.

"There's alot of guys that are fast at football but not a lot of guys can change it into track speed. I feel like that's a gift that only a couple people in the world have and I'm blessed to say that I'm one of those guys that have that gift."

That gift helping Donte become known as the fastest player in college football, where on the track he runs a 10.65 100-meter dash,
that translates to a sub 4.3 40 yard dash. So how does this track speed help him when takes the field in Tiger Stadium?

"Track deals with a lot of explosiveness, a lot of hard work and just a lot of conditioning, and I think that carries over to football a lot because you have to be conditioned, you have to be explosive, you have to be fast playign the position that I play. You have to be competitive with track because 9 times out of 10 you're going to be out there by yourself in the blocks, you don't have 10 other guys out there like football so it just hels ith your competive nature. And I think that just helps me be the ultimate competitor when I'm on the island by myself."

Donte is in a league of his own, being the only LSU football player to also run track, hopefully running towards a national championship in both sports.
