Donaldsonville woman arrested for allegedly shooting victim in face during argument
DONALDSONVILLE- A woman was arrested after she allegedly shot another woman in the face during an argument in Donaldsonville.
According to the Ascension Parish Sheriff's Office, 49-year-old Andrea Jackson was arrested on charges of attempted second degree murder and illegal use of a weapon.
Deputies responded to a home on Claiborne Street in reference to a shooting on July 25. It was learned that a woman was shot in the face at the location and she was transported to a nearby hospital where she is being treated for injuries that are not life threatening, the sheriff's office says.
As the investigation continued, it was learned that the victim and Jackson got into an argument. During the argument, Jackson reached for a handgun and shot the victim in the face.
Jackson was booked on the above charges in the Ascension Parish Jail where no bond has been set at this time.
