Don't cut so deep
The Director of the FBI and the Attorney General warn looming across-the-board spending cuts would erode public safety in every city and town in the nation. The FBI says the cuts would cause furloughs equivalent to closing the bureau's offices in Chicago, Miami and Baltimore, slash the number of cases prosecuted and tax the ability to keep federal prisoners and guards safe. The Director of the FBI says the cuts would also force the bureau to do less against al-Qaida and other terrorist groups.
