DENVER - A suburban Denver man spent seven hours in jail because his daughter's service dog did not have a license.
Matthew Townsend said the dog got out and he was issued a $50 dollar fine, his wife was also given a $100 dollar fine.
Townsend said he ignored the fines then he was arrested and then sent to jail.
Jefferson County Colorado officials plan to go after another 50 dog owners with outstanding fines.
