BATON ROUGE- Jimi the dog, who originally drew attention when he was thrown over a fence into an area animal facility, is missing from his adoptive family.
The catahoula mix was living a happy life with Kaitlin Siener, who adopted him from the Capital Area Animal Welfare Society, until she said he escaped Saturday.
"He adjusted so well, we took him to the park by the soccer fields off Burbank, he just loves to run and he just needs love, that's all he ever wanted was a family," Siener told News 2 today.
She said says Jimi learned several tricks, including how to open the front door. That's how he made his escape the day before the CAAWS Krewe of Mutts parade, which Jimi was slated to be "king" of.
"He just likes to explore and he's smart," she said, "Our roommate's friends just so happened to forget to lock the door back and it was the day before the parade," said Siener.
Siener hopes that someone has Jimi in a safe place, but asks anyone who may have information on the dog to contact News 2. You can email tips to firstname.lastname@example.org.
