BATON ROUGE - A doctor accused of battery and inappropriate behavior with a female patient pleaded guilty to four counts of simple battery on Thursday.
Dr. Howard Gidden, 63, was sentenced to 6 months in parish prison for each count with two years of unsupervised probation, according to the sentencing judge's chambers.
Gidden was accused of behaving in an "inappropriate manner" with a 24-year-old female patient on four different doctor's visits starting in April of 2013. The doctor was arrested in July of last year in connection with the accusations.
