CHICAGO- Doctors are now advised to bring up the topic of sex after their patients have a heart attack. Both the American Heart Association and the European Society of Cardiology say address everything from when and how to resume sex and what position might be best for some conditions or not advised for others. It's billed as the first scientific statement with detailed guidance on resuming sex after heart issues and is based on a review of medical literature. The recommendations say doctors should bring up the topic early and often, to let patients know sex is often okay after a heart-attack, stroke or other cardiac condition.
