DNA test to be done in teacher sex case
PLAQUEMINE - A disagreement over the father of a one-year-old likely initiated the investigation into an Iberville Parish teacher.
Keavin Keith was arrested earlier this week on 37 counts of inappropriate behavior with students.
Sources told WBRZ News 2, the teenage girl first accused a classmate of fathering her child, but after learning through a paternity test the boy was not the father, she accused Keith and went to authorities.
The Iberville Parish Sheriff's Office released the details as its investigation into the Math Science and Arts Academy West geography and civics teacher continues. The department has ordered a DNA test to confirm if Keith is the child's father or not.
Keith is free on a $100,000 bond.
