An inmate at the Dixon Correctional Institute was killed by electrocution Thursday afternoon.

Edmond Barras was assisting a maintenance crew in repairing a generator.

A foreman was supervising at the time.

An autopsy is being performed today.

He was originally in for 4th offense DWI.
