District court employee fired over theft allegations
An employee inside the Governmental Building in downtown Baton Rouge has been fired after an investigation into theft allegations.
The allegations surfaced after a woman found out the traffic ticket she paid on the 10th floor was never cleared. Supervisors said at least $500 is unaccounted for in the Traffic Ticket Office, and that number is expected to grow.
"We investigated and turned over all information to Baton Rouge City Police," said Elisa Stephens Randall, court operations coordinator.
The employee could face criminal charges.
