Dilworth says he won't stay on as EBR Superintendent
BATON ROUGE - Superintendent John Dilworth has notified the East Baton Rouge Parish School Board that he does not plan to return to his position once his contract runs out next summer.
Multiple sources have confirmed to News 2 that Dilworth sent school board members a letter saying he would not seek a renewal or extension of his contract when it ends in July 2012.
Dilworth was selected for the position in 2009 after serving as superintendent in Montgomery, Ala.
In 2010 he abruptly notified the board he was resigning, later saying it was due to problems with micro-manging with school board members. He later took back that decision, staying on as superintendent.
