DHH reports four new West Nile cases this week
BATON ROUGE - The Department of Health and Hospitals reported four new cases of West Nile virus in the state this week.
DHH says one of the new cases was of the neuroinvasive disease variety and occurred in the department's region that covers Central Louisiana. The other three cases were asymptomatic, with two of the cases being reported in the DHH region that covers East Baton Rouge, West Baton Rouge, West Feliciana, East Feliciana, Pointe Coupee, Iberville and Ascension parishes.
The new neuroinasive disease case brings the total for the state this year to three. Due to privacy laws, information about the exact location of the reports is limited to the region level.
