DHH holds off on Medicaid cuts
The Department of Health and Hospitals has halted plans to overhaul Medicaid.
There are questions, however, about how long those plans will be haulted, when DHH wants the new plan in place and what that will mean for patients.
DHH secretary Bruce Greenstein said when the changes take place, the new plan will essentially enroll Medicaid patients in a plan much like a private insurance plan.
Whether that's the best care for patients could be a matter of opinion. 41 states have already done it.
Greenstein said he believes the new Medicaid plan will only be pushed back by a matter of months, which should have it in place by the middle of next year.
