Detectives: Two arrested with bags of cocaine
BAKER - Authorities arrested two people after narcotics agents said they found bags of cocaine, an assault rifle, and cash at an East Baton Rouge home Thursday.
Investigators arrested Jonathan Lewis, 31, and Latarsha Lewis, 30, on drug and weapons charges. Jonathan Lewis was also charged with four counts of attempted first-degree murder of a police officer after officers said he fired several shots but didn't hit anyone.
Members of the Delta Narcotics Task Force, including the East Baton Rouge Sheriff's Office SWAT team and Baker Police, searched the couple's home on Truman Street around 6 a.m. Thursday. Detectives said inside they found two bags with around a quarter-pound of cocaine, a bag of marijuana, a .9mm assault rifle, $1,000, and a digital scale.
The two were charged by Baker Police and booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Jail.
