State Agriculture and Forestry Commissioner Mike Strain says despite the rain showers of Oct. 11 and 12, the statewide burn ban is still in effect.
Strain says the rain was not enough to change the dry ground conditions.
He says the drought index is still very high in most of the state and wildfires continue to be a threat.
Department firefighting crews have put out 311 fires since Oct. 1. The fires burned 4,168 acres of wildland.
