A Terrebonne Parish sheriff's detective lieutenant has been demoted to sergeant and assigned to community college security after pleading "no contest" to a misdemeanor in connection with a tracking device put on a coach's car.

An internal investigation found that Shane Fletcher's activities were unbecoming an officer.

Fletcher was suspended for three days, and reassigned shortly after.

Truck stop owner John Ledet Jr. and State Trooper Travis "Bucky" Colombel have pleaded not guilty - Ledet to criminal mischief, Columbel to malfeasance.
