PLAQUEMINE- A then-deputy working a detail at the Walmart here faces charges, accused of conspiring with a woman to steal two televisions on Black Friday.

The Iberville Parish Sheriff's Office said deputies arrested Ken Garner. He was described in a news release as a "former deputy."

Garner had been with the force for 17 years before he was arrested on felony charges.

The sheriff's office said Garner and an unidentified accomplice stole the sets, between 50 and 60 inches, worth a combined $800.

"It's always a sad day when you have to arrest one of your own, but let this be a warning to all, we will investigate all crimes... Regardless of what type of crime or who commits it," Sheriff Brett Stassi said.
