Deputies surprise drivers with turkeys instead of tickets
CALCASIEU PARISH- Deputies from the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office handed out Thanksgiving turkeys Friday morning to drivers instead of tickets.
KATC reports that drivers that were pulled over and received turkeys committed minor traffic violations such as not wearing a seatbelt or speeding.
Caran and Harry Shaheen, owners of the 5 Star Convenience Stores, donated 50 turkeys to the sheriff's office.
