Deputies stop burglary in progress, arrest two
WATSON - Sheriff's deputies said they stopped a burglary in progress and arrested two people early Friday morning in Livingston Parish.
Deputies arrested Waymon Womack, 47, and Chad Herod, 40, on suspicion of simple burglary.
Investigators said they were called to a residence in the 8000 block of Arnold Road in the Watson area where they saw a vehicle backed up to the house. Deputies said Womack fled the area when he saw deputies, and Chad Herod was arrested at the scene. Investigators later arrested Womack at his home.
Deputies said the pair's vehicle was stuck in the mud, and a short time later Timothy Herod, 37, arrived at the scene claiming he was there just to help. Investigators believe he was trying to help the suspects get their vehicle unstuck, and cited him for misdemeanor criminal mischief.
Deputies booked Womack and Chad Herod into the Livingston Parish Detention Center.
