BATON ROUGE - The East Baton Rouge Sheriff's Office seized more than 240 lbs. of synthetic marijuana and arrested four people following a pair of raids.

The largest was at the Lotus shop on O'Neal Lane. Deputies found more than 200 lbs. of the synthetic pot at that location alone.

Tim Nguyen and Tien Hoang were arrested and charged with distribution of synthetic marijuana. Authorities also searched Nguyen's home and recovered more than $34,000.

EBRSO also arrested two people at another shop. Khatara Smith and Vangades Chew face charges for selling fake pot at the Fun Times Shop on Hewwood Ave.

The duo is accused of possessing just over 20 lbs. of synthetic pot, as well as a stolen firearm.

Note: The Lotus on O'Neal Lane is unrelated to The Lotus II at 3151 College Drive
